Churches & Religion
First of all, I wish to thank God his provision of employment for me and members of my family. I not only thank him for employment, but thank him for the opportunity to see His hand moving in people’s lives.
Yesterday was such a day.
We are into the busy half of the church year and February brings the beginning of the season of Lent during which we prepare ourselves for Easter. Besides our regular Service on Sunday Mornings, with Sunday School and Adult Bible Study at 9:00 AM and regular worship at 10:00 we will be starting our mid-week Lenten service on February 22nd with our Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00 PM.
The members of Christ Lutheran Church would like to wish everyone in Troy, Fitzwilliam, and all surrounding areas a blessed and happy 2012. We had a wonderful Advent and Christmas season celebrating with our members and many guests and we hope that everyone had a Christmas filled with joy and family and the remembering of the birth of the Christ Child in Bethlehem.
Our Advent Services start at 6:00 with a soup and sandwich supper followed by evening worship at 7:00. The theme of the series this year is “Wait, Pray, and Live by Faith” and is based on the Old Testament Prophesies of the coming of the Messiah. Advent services will be held on December 7th, 14, and 21st.
Sunday Services begin with Adult Bible Study at 9:00 and morning worship begins at 10:00. Our December 11 Service will feature the children of the church, guests, and the children of Tender Shepherd Pre-School, as they join in Christmas Carols and the message of the Baby in Bethlehem.
During Advent we meet on Wednesday nights (Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14, and 21) at 6 PM for a “Soup & Sandwich” supper followed by a worship service at 7 PM. Each year we follow a theme during these services and this year we look to the prophets and focus on ‘Wait, Pray, and Live by Faith.” The public is invited to these suppers and services…come, prepare yourselves, and your Christmas celebration will be greatly enriched.
The Troy Congregational Church Welcomes everyone to our traditional Sunday Worship, every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. Bring the children to learn about Jesus Christ at our Sunday school, while you are at Worship.
We will have our annual Cookie and Bake sale on December 10, 2011, from 9 AM to 2 PM. (If the cookies last that long) .. AND ‘Christmas 'Jam' that evening, Dec. 10, at 6:30 PM, join us for a time of sharing songs and music of the 'Christmas Season' with local musicians who will play and 'Jam' for enjoyment and singing together! Come sing along!
The event is an outreach to our community during these tough economic times with low cost, hand crafted holiday gifts and household items for sale (all items made by members and friends with no vendor tables.) Also the popular Finnish coffee bread and a large selection of home baked and other food items will be available for sale. Again this year will be a no-charge coffee hour and soup lunch offered to shoppers. A free-will offering box will be available for those who would like to leave a gift toward our outreach fund.
