AMERICAN LEGION EDWARD BOUFFORD POST 56

From the Issue:
March 2012

The American Legion has two very exciting opportunities coming for our children.  The first one involves those from the 6th grade to the 8th grade, public, private and also those that are home schooled.  The Junior Oratorical Contest is about speaking on the Constitution.  The American Legion Oratorical Contest exists to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of our Constitution.  A packet with the rules has been delivered to the Troy Elementary School.

TROY SENIORS

From the Issue:
March 2012

What a crazy winter, even the birds and trees don’t know what to do.  At least we haven’t had to shovel snow for the first part of winter anyway.  The seniors have got their program for the year and we will try to get the programs to those that did not attend the January meeting. We plan having a speaker (to be announced) at the March 28 at Kimball Hall at 1 PM.  Do hope you will be able to attend!

We will be holding our first Saturday of the month breakfast on March 3rd from 7-10 at Kimball Hall.  We serve a varied buffet, price being $5 for adults and $3.50 for those under 12.  Start your busy weekend off with a full stomach and bring your family or friends or meet up with your friends at the breakfast.  Plan ahead and we will meet you there!!!

GAP MT. LIONS CLUB

The Lions year is about half over.  The midwinter convention was held at the end of January.  March is a busy month for the club: We will be serving refreshments on March 14th at the Troy Town meeting.  Our members attend the District Cabinet meeting on the 11th in Manchester.  It is a great way to get together with other Lions in NH. The St Patrick’s Eyeball Dance is March 17th at the Courtyard Marriott in Concord.

We are looking forward to the 250th Celebration for the Town of Fitzwilliam. We will serve our delicious BBQ chicken on Sat, July 28th.

For residents of Troy & Fitzwilliam, please contact the Gap Mtn Lions Club if you need eyeglasses or hearing aids.

We welcome guests at our monthly meetings.

FITZWILLIAM RECREATION DEPARTMENT NEWS

From the Issue:
February 2012

             Hello Residents!

TROY SENIORS

Wow! Another year has passed and so quickly.  Hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and are enjoying the New Year.  The seniors have yet to set up programs for 2012 so will be holding a regular meeting in January, the fourth Wednesday at 1 PM, at Kimball Hall.  We completed the year with our dinner at East Hill Farm and collected money, food and non-perishable items for the Helping Hand.  If you have any ideas for programs, trips etc, bring them to the meeting for discussion.  We would like to know the types of trips and programs you would like to have for the coming year.  We would like to see more of our members attending the meetings, so bring your suggestions.
