The Troy Fire Department would like to wish everyone a Safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  We would like to remind you, not to overload your electrical circuits with extension cords and strings of lights and lawn ornaments.  When using live Christmas trees try not to place them too close to a high heat source so you can avoid a potential fire.

THE TROY FIRE DEPARTMENT

From the Issue:
November 2010
As another month goes by we are getting closer to the winter months so I would just like to remind you to check or replace your smoke detector batteries and make sure they are in proper working order.  Don't forget to check your carbon monoxide detector and also check or have your chimney and your heat source checked and serviced.  And a little safety reminder: make sure to keep all combustible materials away from your heat source and open flames.

Don't forget we are serving breakfast every second Saturday of each month, our next breakfast is November 13, we have added blueberry pancakes to the menu.  We have also added a Carbon Monoxide Detector as on of your choices in the breakfast drawing, so now you can get a smoke detector or a carbon monoxide detector if you are the lucky individual drawn at the end of the breakfast.

The Emergency Manage has received a $10,000 grant to up ate its local Emergency Operation plan.  The first meeting was held at the select board meeting September 13.  Jane Hubbard Consulting has been hired to put this plan together for the town.  Several meetings with the town departments will be held in order to put this plan together.

Emergency Management has applied for another $10,000 grant for the Fire Department in order to get new pagers.  This grant has made it through the first phase.  If it goes as smooth as the last one, we should be getting it in about six months.

The Emergency Management needs your help! We are in need of a logo that we would use for our patch, business cards and decals.  The logo has to have the basic town center circle of the mountain, but everything else is free game.  We are going to make this a contest that anyone any age can enter.  A $50 prize will be given to the logo that we choose to use. Please send entries to Troy Emergency Management, 16 Central Square, Troy NH.0345
