Post Office

From the Issue:
September 2011
The Post Office Department has called on Carrie Platt of the Francestown Post Office to manage the Troy PO. for the time being.  This comes about as the mail delivery system to Troy has been changed.  Carrier Veronica Gogel picks up Troy's morning mail at the Keene Post Office and delivers it to us.  Arrival in Troy is now scheduled for 9:45 AM instead of the previous 7:30.  This means later delivery to Troy addresses than we enjoyed earlier.

Since Keene is sorting for Troy it is important for Troy box holders to have mail addressed only to the box, NOT alternately to the street address.  If the street address is used regularly that remains in use, but duplicate box/street addresses will delay mail delivery.  Inform your correspondents.  Refer questions to Carrie.

At the end of March, the town of Troy will say goodbye to their much-loved Postmistress, Marci Conant. Her friendly smile and helpful attitude will be greatly missed.
Celebrate Marci’s retirement with a party held at East Hill Farm on March 29. Hors d’oeuvres will be served from 2-4 PM. The price is $10.00 per person. Please telephone 242-6495 for reservations.
See you there!

As many of you have heard, I am retiring at the end of March and I just wanted to write a short note to say thank you. It has been a pleasure and an honor to be your Postmaster. Troy has some of the kindest, nicest, people I have had the opportunity to meet and be of service to. You have made my job here an enjoyable experience and I will miss seeing you all in your day to day visits.
