CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH
Christ Lutheran Church, just south of the Troy Common on Rte. 12 by the blinking light, begins the month of November with All Saints Sunday when we give thanks for all who have led us in the faith and who have finished their race. Late in the month we come together to give thanks in a Thanksgiving Eve Service with Holy Communion on Wednesday, November 23rd at 7 PM and then we end the month with the beginning of the Advent season – the season of preparing our hearts for the birth of the Christ Child.
From the Issue:November 2011
During Advent we meet on Wednesday nights (Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14, and 21) at 6 PM for a “Soup & Sandwich” supper followed by a worship service at 7 PM. Each year we follow a theme during these services and this year we look to the prophets and focus on ‘Wait, Pray, and Live by Faith.” The public is invited to these suppers and services…come, prepare yourselves, and your Christmas celebration will be greatly enriched.
We continue with our Saturday Night Gatherings and Saturday Night Kids Club when the adults have a Bible Study and time of fellowship to talk over immediate concerns. This is a good time to come together to receive strength and support and to share the same with others. The kids have planned activities which include Bible lessons, crafts, movies, and games. The public is welcome to come at 6:00 and spend an hour with us. The public is also invited to our Sunday activities which include Sunday school and Bible study at 9 AM. and Worship Service at 10 AM. We also have an active youth group for younger children (6-11) which meets monthly; usually on Friday nights and don’t forget our monthly Community Breakfasts on the third Saturday from 8 to 10 AM. Due to the Craft Fair and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 19, and the busy times during the Christmas Holidays, our next breakfast will be on January 21st.
God is calling with many times and ways to respond. Come join us or find a church you are comfortable in, but take part for your sake and for the sake of your children.
