With the holiday season soon approaching, many low-income families are thinking ahead toward Christmas and wondering if they can afford Christmas gifts for their kids this year.  Children shouldn’t have to do without presents at Christmas, which is why TD Bank partners with the Town of Troy Welfare Department, to ensure that every child has gifts to unwrap on Christmas.

If your family is unemployed or underemployed, we can help give your children a wonderful Christmas to remember.  Please contact the Selectmen’s Office during regular business hours, 242-7722.

TD Bank will set up a Christmas tree in their lobby on Thanksgiving weekend, decorated with tags with a boy or girl’s age and a wish.  I invite you to participate in the gift giving.  It offers a way for many people who are able, to give a gift to a less fortunate child.

The most enjoyable part is meeting with parents who come to pick up the gifts that are wrapped by anonymous donors with their child’s wish.  If parents are unable to pick up the gifts, the Troy Police Department steps in to deliver the gifts.  Experience the joy of Christmas by bringing a wrapped gift to TD Bank, to be distributed to the families on December 18, 2011.  Thank you.
