FITZWILLIAM RECREATION DEPARTMENT NEWS
Hello Residents! –My name is Cindi Beede and I am honored to take the position of Recreation Coordinator for the town of Fitzwilliam. I am really excited about working with the Recreation Committee to continue and offer the great programs that have been established over the years. My office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3:00pm. I welcome your visits at this time. Youth Basketball –Basketball is underway! A skills clinic was held in January and teams have been formed. For game schedule, please check out the town’s website: www.fitzwilliam-nh.gov . Contact Ali Bunch, basketball director with any questions regarding this program. 585-9470
Yoga –Adult Yoga is held Monday evenings at the Town Hall from 6:30-7:30. Sign-up for a 4-week session beginning February 6-27th for just $20. Drop-ins are welcome for $10/per class. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and bring some water! Contact Sharon Laflamme with any questions. 585-3438
Zumba Dance and Zumba Toning –Zumba Dance is an aerobics program that combines Latin music and dance to make exercise FUN! Zumba Toning adds a light weight-training to the routine to help sculpt your body. Zumba is for any fitness level; you just need a little rhythm. Toning classes are held Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30 and Dance classes every Thursday from 6:30-7:30. Both Zumba classes are held at the Emerson Elementary School’s Multi-purpose Room. Classes run in 8-week sessions. Pay for 8 classes at once and pay only $40 for a class card. Then mix and match Tuesday and Thursday classes as it fits your schedule. Drop-in for $7/ per class. Wear comfy cloths and bring your water.
Men’s Basketball –Open gym is held Monday evenings at Emerson Elementary School from 7:30-9:30 pm. Please note, men’s basketball will not be held on evenings when the school is closed for holiday and vacations.
Snow? –Just a reminder that cross-country skis and snowshoes are available for loan through the Recreation Department. If we ever get snow and you want to borrow equipment on a short-term basis, contact us!
Winterfest –The Fitzwilliam Recreation Department will hold its 3rd Annual Winterfest Saturday, March 10th. Join us for snowman-making, sled-riding, refreshments, and fun. This is a weather-permitted activity and more information will be available soon.
