From the Issue:
February 2012

We are into the busy half of the church year and February brings the beginning of the season of Lent during which we prepare ourselves for Easter.  Besides our regular Service on Sunday Mornings, with Sunday School and Adult Bible Study at 9:00 AM and regular worship at 10:00  we will be starting our mid-week Lenten service on February 22nd with our Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00 PM.

Following that, each week we will begin with a soup and sandwich supper followed by the service at 7:00.  Each year we have a series of messages based upon a common theme and this year it is “Martin Luther’s Small Catechism.”  Each week will focus on one of the 6 chief parts.  Come and join us for the fellowship of eating together and then join us for a review of our basic beliefs.  The public is always welcome.

The public is also invited to our “Saturday Night Gathering” and “Kids Klub”.  This is an informal get-together of people who share what is going on in their lives, their joys and their concerns, their children their jobs….while the adults are having coffee and sharing, the children meet for organized stories, crafts, movies, and other activities.  Every week we also share God’s Word and discuss questions the members bring up about faith and the church and the Kids Klub has short lesson about Jesus and God’s Word.

Also, each month we have at least one special activity.  In February the Kids Klub will be making a Nursing Home visit to share valentines and some other activity and then on Saturday, February 18th, the Kids Klub will be going bowling in the afternoon and meeting with their parents and others at the church for a Valentine theme potluck dinner at 5:30 PM.  We welcome anyone who would like to come – families, singles, couples; this is simply a time to get out of the house and share life with others.

Questions about any of our activities can be directed to our church office at 242-7283.  If there is no answer please leave a message and we will call you back.  We pray that everyone will visit a church of their choice each week and you are always welcome at CLC.
