From the Issue:
December 2011
This year's Monadnock United Way (MUW) Campaign is well underway, and we need your support.  Last year people from Troy received help from MUW-funded agencies 1,161 times!  Many of these agencies rely heavily on state and federal funding and, as some of you know, those dollars are being cut left and right.  The best way that you can continue to support your friends and neighbors is by supporting Monadnock United Way.  After all, you never know when it could be you who needs support from one of the 43 agencies MUW funds.
As a member of the MUW Board of Directors, I can assure you that each and every dollar we raise is needed desperately right here in our community.  Monadnock United Way has a unique allocations process which ensures fiscal and program accountability while meeting the social service needs of our region.  The Committee is composed of 22 volunteers from the entire Monadnock Region representing diversity of experience, gender and age.  Each individual member of the Allocations Committee commits approximately 100 hours to deliver a report crafted toward meeting the needs of our community.
Please consider supporting this year's campaign effort.  You can help us reach our goal of $2,339,067 and ensure that all of these essential agencies are able to continue providing the services upon which our community relies.
