March 2012

    It looks like we jumped the gun on winter’s arrival in our last update. We’ve let go of dreams of sledding parties on the hill and brought the soccer nets back out. If we can’t have winter then let’s hurry up with spring!!  Along with mud season, March brings Town Meetings and Voting Day. Voting will be held on Tuesday, March 13th from 10am-7pm. School will be in session and we ask that you please drive slowly and carefully around the school.

    The PTO will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 14th at 6 PM. All PTO meetings are open to whoever wishes to attend. Yearbook orders must be turned in by Friday, March 16th. The cost per book is $10 and checks may be made out to Troy PTO.  The School Board will hold its March meetings on Tuesday, March 6th and Tuesday, March 20th at 7 PM in the MRMHS Library.  Our next early release day will be on Thursday, March 15th. MRMHS students will be dismissed at 11:30 AM and Elementary students will be dismissed at 12:30 PM.

    The annual Curriculum Fair is on Monday, March 19th from 6-7 PM. The BASP program will serve a Pizza and Salad dinner, by donation, at 5:45 in the E.M.M.R. Come visit the Expo of States, learn about Biomes around the World, and discover the wonders of the Everyday Math program! Classrooms around the school will be highlighting different aspects of math with games, projects, lessons and other fun activities.

    On Wednesday, March 28th, band students from Troy and Emerson Schools will meet in the multipurpose room to play beautiful music together.  The concert will begin at 7 PM. On Thursday, March 29th, the PTO will be hold a Family Fun Night! The E.M.M.R. is transformed into a Peanut Carnival. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Helping Hands, and receive a bag of styrofoam peanuts to play games and do fun activities with.  The fun starts at 6:30 PM and will last until 7:30 PM.
