From the Issue:
January 2012

The Cookie Tour was an excellent way to close out the year.  It was great greeting people and getting holiday greetings in return.  We received many compliments on the beautiful Christmas tree donated by Gary Phelps.  It was fun to share in the reminiscing of others about their holidays of the past as they viewed our Christmas displays.  Many thanked us for the travel "back in time" as they left the museum with a cookie or two in hand.  We would like to give a big "thank you" to those who shared their holiday ornaments and decorations for display.  It certainly helped to give the museum that holiday atmosphere!

Although we do not hold monthly meetings during the months of December, January, and February, the museum will be open the first three Saturdays of each month (weather permitting) from 8:30 to 12:00 noon.  The museum will feature "Troy Sports" during the month of February.  We have the Steve Follett collection and many basketball and baseball trophies, but we have no information to go with the trophies.  The early Troy baseball and basketball teams were well known for their athletic and top scoring abilities.  If you have knowledge of or have Troy sports memorabilia (trophies, photos, and/or newspaper clippings) that you would like to donate to the Troy Historical Society, please contact Kathy Marrotte.  We would love to add them to the collection.

The annual meeting is Thursday, March 15, 2012.  We meet at Kimball Hall at 4:00 in the afternoon.  Please join us in "Preserving the Past for Tomorrow."
