TROY SENIOR CITIZENS

We all will be glad to see the snow disappear. Beside being a little sick of it and the cold, the snow is just so dirty— not pretty anymore. But we will soon have a few signs of spring, I hope. The Seniors had to cancel one meeting and hopefully it will be the last one cancelled.
We are planning on our next meeting on March 25th at Kimball Hall at 1 PM. After the business meeting we will be treated to a trip to Africa with Judy and Bob Hall as our guides along with friends Fred and Tina Torelli. This should be the "trip" to remember. So plan on saving this date.

TROY AMBULANCE

We all came together to come up with ways that we can be beneficial to our community during weather related emergencies. We would like to reach out and have come up with the following plan:

FROM THE POWER STATION

Father, we pray that those who once heard and understood your Word have a revelation of Isaiah 42:6-8 in their lives this day and return to you.
6 "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,
7 to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
8 "I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.

It’s been awhile

MEADOWOOD FIRE

2009 started off with a bang for the Meadowood County Area Fire Department. To date, we have responded to 20 emergency calls. We would like to thank everyone who donated to our annual Fund Drive. With your support we can continue to serve the community and your local fire departments.

POST OFFICE NEWS

At the end of March, the town of Troy will say goodbye to their much-loved Postmistress, Marci Conant. Her friendly smile and helpful attitude will be greatly missed.
Celebrate Marci’s retirement with a party held at East Hill Farm on March 29. Hors d’oeuvres will be served from 2-4 PM. The price is $10.00 per person. Please telephone 242-6495 for reservations.
See you there!

SCHOOL YARD SCRIBBLES

Winter break is over and the school is humming with all the activity going on this month. On Tuesday March 10th the Troy and Emerson band students will present a concert at Emerson Elementary School at 7 PM. Note that Tuesday March 10th is also voting day. Voting will be held in the Elaine Merrifield Multipurpose Room between the hours of 10 AM and 7 PM. Please come out and support our children! Wednesday March 11th is town meeting day! The annual town meeting will be held at 7 PM in the EMMR.

TENDER SHEPHERD PRESCHOOL

Lions and Lambs will be discussed as the students learn the sound of letter L in addition to relating these animals to our March weather. Special activities planned for this month include a pajama party and a pancake breakfast.
National Lutheran Schools Week will be observed beginning March 30th. The theme is: "Securing Each Child's Future - for Eternity," based on the words of John 3:16. Tender Shepherd Preschool is among the 2700 Lutheran Early Childhood Centers, Elementary, and Lutheran High Schools throughout our country.
